Meet Alex Honnold.
Alex Honnold ( www.alexhonnold.com ) is a climber. Among the best in the world. On June 3, 2017 Alex became the first person to do something that defies belief: he climbed El Capitan in Yosemite without the use of ropes or safety gear. A solo climb of almost 3000 feet. What makes this so compelling to me is not the climb, as spectacular as that is, but what I learned about Alex. In the About page on his web site, he describes himself as “No big deal” and that he “maintains his simple “dirtbag-climber” existence, living out of his van and traveling the world in search of the next great vertical adventure.”
This is the kind of thing I mean when I talk about Owning Your Life.
Here is a guy who has created a way to live a life he is completely happy in, doing what he loves to do. He spends his days doing what he wants to do, when he wants to and where he wants to. His choices wouldn’t be for everyone, but this guy absolutely owns his life.
I admire that no end.
Own Your Life
This is the goal I have for myself and the goal I have for you. That you would have the time, the money and the health to pursue whatever you find most meaningful in your life. Whether it’s catching the perfect wave, tasting the best wine, or sitting on the front porch with your significant other watching the world go by beneath a beautiful sunset, that’s what I want for you.
Since not all of us can get corporate sponsors (I’m just not an elite athlete, are you?) we need a way to create income so we can live the life we each want. Because it takes an income stream to have the time and acquire the health to partake of the freedom you deserve.
