Based on the number of YouTube views, I may be the last person in America to see this video.
When I was a kid, Simon and Garfunkel were big. Bridge Over Troubled Water was one of the first albums I owned.
Well the band Disturbed, who I hadn’t heard of until now, did a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s classic “The Sound of Silence”.
I was completely wowed by the performance.
Disturbed brought the song to an entirely different life than it had as the plaintive ballad it originally was. They made it an anthem of sorts.
Really cool. If you missed the link above, click HERE to watch the video.
I guess this hit a chord with me because I’ve been working on updating some “old school” selling skills I have from my days in real estate. Telephone work, specifically.
The thing is, that no matter how good you are or become at attraction marketing, you still have to get into conversation with prospects and your team.
It cannot all be done by email and internet.
That’s one reason I wrote the blog post about recruiting professionals yesterday.
While marketing skills are critical to your success, you still need to be able to do the person-to-person interaction that many decry as “old school”.
So while we may have moved away from home parties and bugging your family, you will still need some of the skills that have served home business owners in the past.
Just a thought.
Enjoy the video.
If you’d like more ideas on how you can build your tribe, I have a great newsletter that I think will help you out. Just enter your information in the form below and I’ll make sure you get it.
