People try to complicate Network Marketing. I don’t know why.

Maybe they have a training course they want to sell you. In order to justify the $297 price they need to make it all sound mysterious and complex.

It might be that they can’t let go of the wierd idea that business needs to be serious and involved.

I suppose it could be that they need to feel important.

I think probably, for the most part, that they just haven’t thought through how to simplify the whole thing.

There are three basic functions you need to do and five basic skills you need to perform those functions well. Today we’ll talk about the three basic functions.

Use the products.

Be your own best customer. Use as many of your Network Marketing company’s products as you can. Avoid like poison using a competing product.

The more of your company’s products you use, the more stories you will have to tell about them. Collect your own product success stories and collect success stories from other people.

By collecting stories about your Network Marketing products, you will be able to help solve more problems for people. And what people buy is solutions to problems, not products.

And this will get you to a place where you are able to naturally and easily recommend products rather than having to get into sales mode. Which brings us to:

Recommend the products.

A problem I see many Network Marketers fall into is they think they need to “sell” the products. When they follow this thought, they tend to fall into whatever stereotypes they have in their head about sales people. Which means they might get pushy or try too hard to persude someone to buy their products.

You will have more success and more fun if you think of it as recommending or sharing the products. Like you would do with a movie or a restaurant or a mechanic.

When you’re in conversation with someone and they mention they have a problme your product might solve, you can ask “Have you tried Miracle Berry Pixy Juice? I used to have that problem but since I started using it, I don’t anymore.”

If they are interested, they’ll say so and you can make a sale. If, on the other hand, they aren’t interested, they’ll say so (or say nothing about your Pixie Juice) and you’ll let the subject drop.

No pushing, no closing and no hard feelings if they aren’t interested.

Think of it like a waiter in a diner. He’ll come around to the table occaisionally and ask if you want more coffee or more water.

If you do, he pours. If you don’t, he smiles and moves onto the next table. He doesn’t try to persuade you to take more coffee.

If you make suggestions of solutions to people with problems, enough of them will take you up oon your offer that you’ll have plenty of customers and still have a place to go for Thanksgiving.

Finally, we’ll look at the third function and that’s to:

Ask people to “take a look” at your opportunity.

Inviting someone to look at the business is the same as recommending the products. You aren’t selling or persuading. You are merely offering another option for someone to consider.

As you have conversations with people and build rapport with them, you will be able to introduce the idea of an income opportunity to them.

Most people are intereested in earning more money and many of them will be open to taking a look if you introduce the idea well and don’t come off as pushy or needy.

With those that are open, you can give them a short presentation or provide them with a tool, such as a video or web presentation.

Some will be interested and some won’t. Remember our waiter story above.

If you will do these three things consistently, you will be able to build as big a business as you desire.
